The Construction Materials Inspector performs field tests and inspections on materials such as concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates to verify compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards. The position is field-based on active construction sites and requires comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions while collaborating closely with contractors and project stakeholders. Responsibilities - Perform field testing of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregates, and asphalt at the time of placement on active construction sites. - Interpret project specifications, plans, and working drawings to understand testing requirements and inspection criteria. - Conduct field inspections, sampling, and testing using appropriate equipment and maintain that equipment in proper working condition. - Obtain and record field data in a clear, legible, and organized manner in accordance with project plans, specifications, and internal requirements. - Generate and compile accurate and timely field reports that document test results, observations, and any nonconforming conditions. - Record daily installed construction quantities to support project documentation and quality control. - Communicate effectively with team members on the construction site, including contractors and owners’ representatives, to coordinate testing activities and share results. - Keep all relevant parties fully informed of testing outcomes, field conditions, and any issues that may impact project quality or schedule. - Travel locally to various project sites using a company vehicle or personal vehicle, depending on availability. - Follow safety protocols and site-specific requirements while working on construction sites in
