SUMMARY - Design mechanical structures and systems for truck mounted equipment that meet the applicable standards and to perform the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Ownership of design and analysis of mechanical structures and components. - Deep understanding of Bill of Material (BOM) structures. - Develop new products using 3D solid modeling software (SolidWorks). - Create detail drawings of 3D models (SolidWorks). - Work with procurement team to order prototype parts and manage creation of prototypes. - Create test procedures and work with testing dept to implement functional, structural, and stability testing. - Make modifications to new designs based on results of testing. - Evaluate machine weight and balance for road worthiness and crane stability. - Create sales support drawings. - Analyze product failures, develop repairs and redesign accordingly. - Assist technical publications in creation of manuals (parts books, service manuals, operator manuals). - ECR review and recommend approval/rejection. - ECO creation and give recommendations on implementation. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - 2+ years’ experience in an engineering capacity. - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology. - Proficient in engineering design software – 3D and 2D (SolidWorks and
