This is a hands-on machining role where you'll operate and maintain multiple spindle screw machines, inspect precision parts, make machine adjustments, and play a critical role in keeping production moving. This is more than simply pushing buttons. You'll be actively monitoring machine performance, troubleshooting issues, performing tool changes, making offsets, inspecting parts, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the production process. Location: Elyria, OH Pay Rate: $ 24.70/hour Assignment Type: Temp-to-Hire Training Schedule: 1st Shift | 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Regular Schedule After Training: 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM Position Overview The Screw Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining single and multiple spindle screw machines used to produce precision metal components. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, machining knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to keep multiple machines operating efficiently while maintaining quality and production standards. Key Responsibilities - Operate and monitor multiple spindle screw machines and lathe-style equipment - Read and interpret blueprints, shop orders, and machining specifications - Load bar stock and prepare machines for production - Perform quality inspections using gauges, measuring tools, and CMM equipment - Make machine offsets and minor CNC adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy - Change worn or broken tooling and support machine setup activities - Perform minor preventive maintenance and routine machine care - Re-sharpen and maintain form and shave tools - Complete production, scrap, and inventory transa
