Job Title: Skilled Laborer – Commercial Carpentry Crew Lead Job Description This role combines hands-on commercial carpentry with field leadership responsibilities across multiple job sites. You oversee crews on commercial construction projects while actively performing carpentry tasks to help meet project deadlines. You also track project progress using a project management system and use digital tools to stay organized and connected. Responsibilities - Oversee and lead crews of laborers and carpenters on commercial construction job sites across Western New York, including Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse. - Perform hands-on commercial carpentry work, including metal and wood stud framing, rough carpentry, finish work, trim installation, and related tasks as needed to meet project timelines. - Monitor daily progress on site and ensure work aligns with project plans, quality standards, and safety requirements. - Track project status and update information accurately in the project management system. - Coordinate and communicate effectively with team members and site personnel to organize work, resolve issues, and maintain productivity. - Use phones, tablets, laptops, and project management software to document work, access plans, and report progress. - Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for framing, drywall, and general carpentry tasks. - Support and promote a strong safety culture by following OSHA standards and company safety procedures at all times. - Travel between multiple commercial construction sites within the region as required by project needs.
