$10 with walk-in admission or $20 per vehicle including shuttle from Middletown Regional Airport Wheelchair Accessible The Middletown Hot Air Balloon Festival, known as The Ohio Challenge, is one of Butler County's most unique festivals. The festival takes place in July and features more than 30 colorful hot air balloons, a laser light show, fireworks, skydiving shows and much more. To celebrate the nation's 250th birthday, Ohio Challenge 2026 will feature an expanded drone exhibit, featuring 350 drones. This enhanced show will honor America's iconic birthday with intricate formations and synchronized patterns, creating memorable experiences for families and visitors.
