Events Server/Bartender ($22/hr, On Call)- UAA

Employer: NANA Regional Corporation. **Job Description** Located in the Alaska Airlines Center, the Server position is responsible for delivering high quality services of food and beverage in a restaurant setting. **Responsibilities** + Promptly greets guest and takes their order. + Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service. + Follows TAPS ID verification and training guidelines. + Ability to enter orders into POS (Point of Sale) Micros system. + Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars. + Prepares drink order, to include wine and beer. + Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed. + Serves food items to assigned tables in manner it was ordered. + Totals up bills and accepts payments or refers patron to Cashier. + Promptly clears and resets guest areas at conclusion of each course or service. + Ensures food stations are stocked according to checklists. + This position occasionally works Part-Time or On-Call. + Breaks down service stations and cleans equipment. + This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff. + Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned. **Qualifications** + High School diploma or GED equivalent. + Must be 21 years of age or older to serve and prepare alcohol. + At least 1 year of server experience in the restaurant or food service industry. + Observes extensive grooming, customer service, and uniform/ dress standards. + Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English. Preferences + Municipality of Alaska Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire. + Must have Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP) certification; or have been formally trained in alcohol management/serving.
