Employer: Trinity Health. **Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **JOB SUMMARY** The Carpenter performs rough and finished carpentry as well as installation and repair of architectural hardware. Will also perform mechanical repairs and maintain hospital mechanical and plumbing equipment throughout MMC-NI facilities. **ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY** A. Reports to: Engineering Supervisor B. Supervises: N/A C. Key Working Relationships: Engineering Staff, Environmental Services and all Departmental Customers D. Primary Customer Groups: Patients, Visitors and Staff E. Age/Population of Patients Served: Not Applicable **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** A. Follows standard work or process to insure completion of projects in a timely manner B. Performs rough and finished carpentry including preparing surfaces for painting or other finishes and applies wall vinyl. Modifying existing structures to accommodate installations. C. Maintains or replaces hardware including lock assemblies. D. Effectively employs appropriate troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in order to repair and maintain building system and equipment. E. Maintains stock of building supplies to complete routine projects. F. Performs data entry on departmental preventive maintenance and work order software G. Works as a team member to accomplish departmental activities. H. Supports and abides by all medical center, departmental, and safety policies and procedures. Proactively identifies safety concerns surrounding the work environment. I. Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa and the Sisters of Mercy. J. Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Engineering Supervisor. K. Constantly monitors own performance and identifies ways to improve. L.
