The Phlebotomist is supervised by and works with the RNs to achieve timely pre-procedure blood draws and testing. The Phlebotomist must have interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, families, team members, physicians and ancillary staff.** **Job Summary and Qualifications** + **You will demonstrate knowledge of physiology and function of the venous system of the human body, and collection techniques used to draw blood from patients.** + **You will collect blood samples from patients per laboratory policy and procedure.** + **You will decide the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient.** + **You will practice proper patient identification.** + **You will label blood vials according to established procedures including use of automated patient identification systems.** **What qualifications you will need:** + **High School diploma or equivalent** + **Completion of a certified phlebotomy course (strongly preferred)** + **Demonstrated phlebotomy experience** + **Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all co-workers, staff, patients, patient families and vendors** + **Good phlebotomy, computer, and communication skills** **Benefits** TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
