Threads, solders, fit and weld pipes. + Installs, connects, repairs and replaces pipes. + Assembles plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers and water heaters. + Maintains fire systems, checking sprinklers and standpipes, etc + Fits gaskets, seals joints, makes connections using weld, solder, nuts and bolts + Repairs autoclaves, sterilizing equipment and distilled water units + Paints, plasters or replaces tile and floor boards, when necessary. + Maintains cleanliness of all equipment and shop. * Performs related duties, as required. *ADA Essential Functions Job Qualifications: + High school diploma or GED, required. + Vocational high school graduate with 2 years plumbing courses or equivalent, required. + G38Torch use of O-2 COMB GAS Certificate, required. + Burning and Welding Certificate, required. + Minimum of two (2) years general experience as plumber or steamfitter, required. + Knowledge of shop tools, pipe threading, electric drills, rotary hammers, required. + Ability to interpret building and plumbing codes. + Ability to read blueprints and schematics in accordance with NYC Code. + Working knowledge of all building, grounds, facilities and department work areas, required. + Computer literacy preferred.G60 and F60 FDNY certification, preferred. *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
