This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, offering opportunities to learn welding and machine operatio **Key Responsibilities** + Operate and monitor welding machines + Assist in assembling steel joists on a production line + Read and follow basic schematics and instructions + Support welding tasks (MIG, TIG, or Stick) + Operate machinery such as laser equipment (as trained) + Handle materials and perform touch-up painting + Maintain a clean and organised work area + Follow all safety procedures **Required Skills** + Basic welding knowledge preferred + Ability to read simple drawings or instructions + Strong attention to detail + Team-oriented with good communication + Reliable with consistent attendance **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience in manufacturing, construction, or general labour + Trade or vocational training + Comfortable in a heavy industrial environment **Work Environment:** + Steel manufacturing plant (bridge components) + Hot in summer, cold in winter + 2nd shift (mandatory), Monday–Friday + Saturdays as needed **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Point of Rocks, MD. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.17 - $24.17/hr.
